Martha Radio

Inspired by an exhibit of Gustave Baumann’s handmade chairs at the New Mexico Museum of Art, I became interested in the originality of Spanish Colonial furniture—how each piece has its own personality. This series of paintings, which I do under the name of my alter ego, Martha Radio, playfully combines the unique shapes of Santa Fe style furniture with color and suggestions of light-filled interior spaces.
